Our own mixed nursery rhyme.

Walt: Use interesting language in our writing.

In our Literacy class we had to select two well known Nursery Rhyme put them together and make up a story. We also had to use these 5 words in our writing: Coincidence, observed, blurted, discreetly and ponder. My story is about Humpty Dumpty and Jack n Jill hope you enjoy reading.

Humpty Dumpty was so ill, so Jack and Jill went up the hill, to grab the awesome doctor named Phil. But jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill came tumbling after. Up got Jack and said to Jill wasn't it a Coincidence that we both fell down the hill.

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall but Jack n Jill pushed him off and Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. Discreetly Jack and Jill had put Humpty's parts in the rubbish bin so they don't get caught. But accidentally Jill blurted out ”I can't believe we killed Humpty ”.

All the king's horses and all the king’s men had just observed what Jill had said, they saw Humpty lying there dead. They pondered about what Jill had done well jack spun back to the dump and gathered Humpty’s pieces near a farm.

Jack had put Humpty back together again and took him to the King’s men, they gave back Jill and paid their bill and went on back to do their drill.

Today we had a important visitor, he is a motivator talker and his name is Mr Andrew Patterson. The first thing he spoke to us was about our future, If we had any idea of what we want to become in the future? Some of us already had our minds made up but most of us didn't so we had to figure out what
A + I =M  meant.  A is for Aspiration, I is for Inspiration equals Motivation. '' If you
do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life'' by Mark Anthony. Andrew said that we should all be givers not takers, what goes around comes around, if you give you will receive more. There's other emotional, motivating things that Andrew also talked to us about, and I am actually happy that he told us all those things so we all know what's things are like. Big Massive Thanks to Andrew Patterson for coming over to our school and giving us a Fun, Motivating speech session it was wonderful having you here I hope you keep doing what your doing and keep spreading the message all over the world.

The floundering project.

Today was the day, where the whole school had to go down to Wai o Taiki bay to help and support the students who went to catch baby flounders. Around 9:10 the students walked down to the bay with all the teachers and arrived there around 9:30. We all stood there watching them catch the baby flounders for 5 min, then yelled and cheered for them as they fetch the fish. We sang a couple of waiata's then left back to school. Once we arrived at school we had a meeting then we set off to do our school work. A while after we heard some good news, the students that went to fetch fish they caught more than 20 baby flounders. With all those baby flounders we will keep them in a tank and look after them until they're all big then release them back into the ocean. Big Congrats to all the students who caught those baby flounders, you's all did a good job!!

Bubble Gum Slow Mo

This is a part of our Manaiakalani film festival movie for this year. Our class were put into groups and we were in charge of creating a slow motion scene. I was in a group with Machelle and Lotu and we created a slow motion scene of bubble gum bursting. It was hard to do because the bubble gum wouldn't always burst or it wouldn't be big enough. Finally we got some good shots. Enjoy.

Fathers day!!

First of all I would like to wish a late ''Happy fathers day '' to all the hard working father's who did everything they could for their family. Yesterday was father's day, a day where all the father's be showed gratitude, love for all their hard work. On Sunday we visited our Uncle in the hospital for his father's day even thou he's not a father but he treated us like we were his children.

We showed up at the hospital brought him flowers, spent time with him. I was kinda mad because the doctor's said he can't eat for weeks, he is going into surgery soon so he could only drink liquid and I fault sorry for my uncle because he really wanted something to eat but i'm proud of him still holding on. My family just spent time with him and said our happy fathers day wishes and went back home to wish our father a happy fathers day.

Once we got home he already got his gifts from my brothers, then we all went out to have a feed. Had fun at home, played games and my dad just spend his night at kava.

Key Competency- Managing self

Talofa Bloggers

Today our class is focusing on our Key Competencies. Our aim was to stay on task and see how much progress we make for reading and writing in one morning block. This should set the standard for how much work we complete each time we have literacy.

Our two learning intentions were:
WALT: 1. Show how much progress we can make in one literacy session
2. Articulate what we are learning about.

Here is my reading and writing work I completed today.

Who is my Role model and why

WALT - Plan for a piece of explanation writing. - Use the' Title-Introduction-Information-Conclusion (TIIC)

Who is your role model? To me my role model is both of my parents because they have never given up on me or on each other. They have been there for me ever since I was born. Today I will be explaining three main ideas why my parents are my role models.

My Parents are like my superheros. They have been working their butts off to provide food on the table also to pay off my school fees. My parents are awesome but has some restricted rules that I wish I could do. The thing I get annoyed is that my parents are overprotective but for me I know it’s for my own good.

I cannot begin to describe how blessed I am to have two amazing parents. I thank them for being encouraging and teaching me lessons to know better and to become a better person in life, without you guys I would probably be a weird lonely person.

I am proud of my mom most because she was the one who raised all 12 of us while my dad when out drinking. He wasn’t the type of dad I wanted to have. It’s just painful thinking about the bad things he did in the past. But I really admire my mom the most. I am proud that she never gave up on us all. Now everything is algood, my dad has changed a lot he has been improving on being a father and i am proud of him.

My mom is mostly my role model but my dad has been proving that he was the wrong guy in the past and so they’re both my role models. I love them both so much and wish them all the best. Thankyou mom and dad for being the best alwayz.

Who is my role model and why- Brainstorm

Why people need to drink water.

Walt: Plan for a piece of explanation writing. - Use the' Title-Introduction-Information-Conclusion (TIIC)

Why people need to drink water most of the days? People need to drink water to keep them on their feet everyday. There are dozens of things that water can help you with. For example to get healthy skin drink plenty of water and use the right products for your skin. Water can reduce risk of cancer, water helps your kidneys, boost your energy, helps lose weight, also drinking water can help get rid of body toxins.

We are essentially made of water and we are surrounded by water so why do we have to drink water? Even though we are made of water we still need to drink water because every single day we lose 3-4 litres because of our sweat, and even when we breath, so you should drink water everyday to get your strength together everyday.

If you want to stay healthy, lose weight, reduce risk of cancer drink water! All I gotta say is too drink plenty of water. Water is good for you to be honest water is one of the things you really need in life. Drink plenty of water guys and you will be nice and healthy.

My message for you guys was to drink plenty of water!! Hope you guys enjoyed reading my post about why you should drink plenty of water. Drink water everyday and stay hydrated.

Mult/Div Place value partitioning strategy

Walt: Use the place value partitioning strategy to solve multiplication problems

Here is my work about Multiplication and Division. In Room 1 we are focusing on learning all our time tables, because if you had to figure out a question you have to know your time tables to solve them. This Presentation about Place Value partitioning strategy helped me a lot and thanks to my maths teacher Mr Wiseman. If your teacher gave you a division problem to figure out and you don't know the answer you would have to reverse it into a multiplication problem. Here is my presentation of my maths work about Place value partitioning strategy read enjoy and I hope it helps you.

Why it is important to drink water.

WALT: Plan for a piece of explanation writing. Use the title introduction- information- conclusion (TllC) structure.

On Tuesday we worked on a presentation and poster explaining why it is important for people to drink water. Water is very important for everyone to drink it keeps you healthy and hydrated. In fact water can help avoid certain types cancer. You need water to survive, water can also help your kidneys. There are lots of different ways to make water. When steam hits some blocked ice cubes the ice will start to melt and turn into water. Did you know that hot water freezes faster than cold water also water is the most second common molecule in the universe. Hope you enjoyed reading my post, have a great day, and drink plenty of water.
