Walt: present information in different ways



This week room seven literacy class learnt how to create a poster with information about Silas who went to war in 1914. He became a stretcher bearer.Silas got injured during the war while helping someone else.

First we had to play two games that are called Super Mario Bothers and Mega Man. We played the games to give us some ideas for our own game. When we were done playing theses games we had to start planning for our game. This some of my i ideas for my own game. My game is called : The plan game.

WORLD WAR ONE

I will explain three main ideas about world war one.Guess what war broke out in Europe in August nineteen fourteen. When it was world war one New Zealand was planning to capture German Samoa War broke out in Europe in August nineteen fourteen. After war broke out the Britain's asked New Zealand to seize German Samoa but in a great way.

On August twenty ninth nineteen fourteen New Zealand did capture German Samoa.The first soldier from New Zealand to die was private William ham He was fighting in turkey on a battlefield in an area that is known as suez canal.They were fighting against the Ottoman troops.

World war one is very interesting but sad to for lovely soldiers who died.The powerful weapons they used at war was canon belge,snipers,Rifles and stone civil war gun.A stone civil war gun is like a massive war machine it is so massive that Four to six people can fit inside it and throw bombs to the enemy.For those soldiers who die we shall remember them in honour and never forget what they have done for New Zealand.

In world war one the soldiers ate bully beef which is called corned beef now,fresh meat,Maconochie's meat stew.They also ate vegetables to keep them healthy and hard biscuits was a meal for the soldiers.Did you know Maori left New Zealand one hundred years ago,was the first organized effort by Maori to represent themself overseas.

I feel really sad for those people who died from world war one I really hope that they died in peace but I know most of them didn’t.They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.We must not forget them we should always keep them in our Memory.



The first thing I did well was the introduction.I thought that I done really well on my introduction because I added lots of detail and lots of facts about world war one.That was the easiest part.It was very hard when I had to explain the third sentence.I am happy that even though I struggled I managed to finish my writing.

I have realised that I should have questions and punctuation and details.
I didn't remember to add more detail so next time I hope that I will archive my rights.
The next time I write I hope that my writing is perfect and my writing gets more interesting for the reader.
My goal for my writing is to make sure that my writing makes sense, add lots of detail and to add punctuation.

My Holiday

In the Holidays I went shopping on Saturday with my sister Anna and her family at pak’n’save.It was great when we went because we all had fun and we were all full from eating.


On Saturday me and Anna’s family went shopping.First we went to the fish and chips shop and got combos for each of us because we were hungry and ate all of it till we were full.WE had a little rest then Anna drove to pak’n’save and we all got Noodles, Milo, chips and other junk food.

Next we went home and even got a big rest then we ate our junk food then it got bored so Anna’s husband rang and told his mum to come over so they came over with the little sister Merry and the sister Tarah.when they came we read bible scriptures for a long time.

It was fun on that day I really enjoyed it Especially reading bible scriptures also I learned helps of things from the bible and I hope one day will be the same as that day.

Mālama Honua

Have you been to the Hokule’a and Hikiana powhiri? If you haven’t wow! You have missed an big adventure on Wednesday 25th march. It was great! At first all the schools like Panmure bridge, Glen bray, Tamaki college came to point England reserve for the Malama Honua. Some of the students from every school went for a ride in the boat. Our principal Mr Burt was there and the camera crew was there.

We sat down on the wet green grass and waited for the two waka’s to come, it took for long but as we were waiting someone was blowing a horn and someone was blowing the trumpet. Once they had landed on our beach the man was talking to us then all of the school’s sang three song’s called E oho, Nga waka E whitu and E Honore. It was extremely amazing meeting the people and really fun too.

When we meet the people who traveled from Hawai’i to Point England reserve we had to walk down the stairs then run! Running to high five all the visitors on the hand.There we go running fast as we could through the hard rough sand as we were running it was hard to run in the sand and when we kick the sand will bounce back into our shoes and sandals.

I really liked going to the Malama Honua it was fun.I would like to go and visit Hawai’i for a Holiday and I would like to go on a long day in the boat while we are fishing in the ocean. The excited thing I was really excited about is that we are all going to be on TV!

Camp

We are learning to write five long paragraph with five sentences.

Guess what? On Tuesday the 10th of march the year six and year five’s were going on camp.They brang their suitcase to school and put it into the hall.I was very excited about camp but I was not allowed to go because I was sick that I had  to swallow pills.

The next day I stayed home because I was coughing really bad.When I was coughing I thought that I might not go to school on Thursday because I had a  headache too.While I stayed home I laid on the couch and watched Tv,while I was watching tv I was thinking about what they were doing at camp and how fun would it be to go and play with your friends for the rest of the day.

If I were at camp I would be having fun instead of sitting there watching TV.When I came back to school I heard that there were groups and each group was called All stars,Honesty,True crew,Real dealz,commitments and Matapono e. I was in the real dealz and the real dealz was cool and when each group performed on the stage that was kind of a competition of who will come first,second,and third.

I was really looking forward of who was going to come first,second or third.I really hope the real dealz came first or second.It was really boring at home cause I wasn’t allowed to see my nesses and nephews before they get the sickness so I just drawed picture’s in my book.

I liked to stay at home as well as staying at school because at home you can sleep for long and at school you get to learn and you can play games.I love school,school is the bomb.The most fun thing about camp is at the end you get to play and swim the whole day.
